The start of a new basketball season is almost here, and the next matchups have the potential to be legendary. Visual Concepts has developed NBA 2K Series which is published by 2K Games The game’s genres are sports video game, simulation video game, simulation Game, Simulation, and Sports.

Every year in September, when NBA 2K is released, the age-old discussion about who is overrated and who is underestimated in the NBA and how the current installment in the series plays out among the series’ devoted fan base is reignited. Interesting new complications arise in NBA 2K23. Here’s everything you expect to know about NBA 2K23

The Covers of NBA 2K 23

The unveiling of a sports game’s cover athlete always generates discussion, and NBA 2K is one series that often has many cover athletes every release. There are three covers this year, featuring a total of four athletes.

The most popular cover features Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns making a layup. A pair of WNBA All-Stars, Sue Bird of the Seattle Storm and Diana Taurasi of Phoenix, will share the cover of the WNBA Edition of the game. A more costly edition of the game featuring the greatest player of all time, Michael Jordan, is also available for presale and will be discussed in further depth below.

Just What’s New in NBA 2K23

Despite the widespread criticism that annual sports simulators don’t improve much from one year to the next, it seems like NBA 2K23 will add a number of new features and modes to its roster.

In The MyNBA Eras

MyNBA, this year’s iteration on the series’s long-running Franchise mode, allows players to rewind the clock to the 1983 season. Players have the power to rewrite the NBA’s history and future over four different eras, from the Jordan era to the Shaq period to the Kobe era to the present day. The Celtics should trade Magic Johnson to the Bucks and choose Michael Jordan. It’s up to you to make decisions that will have long-term consequences as you play season after season. Check out our previous MyNBA Eras preview for a comprehensive look at this mode.

The Jordan Rematch Is Back

Jordan Challenge returns for the first time since NBA 2K11. As well as increasing in size (from 10 to 15 tasks), this iteration will also have a more engaging gameplay experience. Similar to how MyNBA Eras uses visual filters and other touches to transport players back in time, experiencing Jordan’s games from the ’80s and ’90s will do the same. Everything from the stadiums and commercials of the era to the on-screen scoreboard and color commentators is featured in these classic broadcasts.

Variable Gameplay

All of these intriguing historical modes are for nothing if the actual basketball action isn’t up to par, and Visual Concepts thinks it has found the solution to what ailed last year’s game, which focused too much on the game’s periphery. You can no longer depend only on landing open shots, as new shooting mechanics will further separate the game’s average shooters from its best marksmen.

Meanwhile, improved confidence and control in the paint could lead to more successful strategies than the Warriors’ reliance on long-range shooting alone. If you want to play 2K23 like The Greek Freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo, then you should read our piece on how to do just that.
