Haney vs. Kambosos 2 Fight Highlights and Results

Devin Haney (29-0, 15 KOs) took care of business tonight in the main event of ESPNs live broadcast from Melbourne, Australia. Haney displayed an even more dominant effort to defeat Kambosos (20-2, 10 KOs) by unanimous decision over 12 rounds of action. Earlier this year, Haney had defeated Kambosos by a clear but unremarkable decision.

Kambosos was determined to set the tone and unleashed a series of powerful blows in unison in the opening round, resulting in a significantly faster start to the bout than the previous time. That was sufficient for me to win the opening round. From that point on, though, it appeared as though Haney was able to make the necessary adjustment and began ripping apart Kambosos with jabs, lead right hands, and left hooks.

By the middle rounds, it was evident that Kambosos was growing increasingly frustrated, as he was unable to achieve any success with his continual altering of stances, which were intended to create a difficult image for Haney. Haney had little difficulty with this, as he began to inflict more and more abuse on Kambosos, who was visibly suffering.

In subsequent rounds, it became evident that Kambosos was weakening, despite his warriors heart. When Haney began unloading a barrage of clean punches on Kambosos, it appeared that he was attempting to score the stoppage, but Kambosos was able to hold on just long enough to make it to the final bell.

BLH rated the fight in Haneys favor based on the official judges scores of 119-109 and two scores of 108-110. After 12 complete rounds of action, it was evident who the winner was, and the official judges awarded him 119-109 and two scores of 108-110. And with the victory, Haney has completed its business with Kambosos and can go on to the next challenge, while Kambosos regresses after two lopsided losses.

When asked if he would be willing to face Vasiliy Lomachenko or Gervonta Davis, Haney said, Well take on anyone. No matter who it is, we want to face the worlds top boxers. I feel I am the worlds greatest fighter. Whoever is next, please bring them on.
