Flip & Go Online Poker Tournaments

Flip & Go Online Poker Tournaments

One of the many tournament variants on GGPoker is the Flip & Go. The name of the game already reveals that there are two different phases in the tournament: the flip phase and the go phase. The flip phase is a special one, because the players have little influence on this game. The Go phase includes all players who have won a flip phase and is just a regular No-Limit Texas Hold’em tournament.

If you are used to enjoying the virtual poker games offered by non GamStop casinos then you will find this tournament quite interesting and entertaining, just visit GamblingPRO casino platform.

At the beginning of 2021, GGPoker came up with a unique tournament: a Flip & Go tournament. This special tournament consists of two different phases where all players who reach the second phase are guaranteed to win a cash prize. This second phase is called the Go phase and is a complete in the money tournament. The first phase is called the Flip phase and that is quite a special game variant.

Buy-ins

The Flip & Go tournaments start regularly and can also be played at different buy-in levels. The buy-in listed is the minimum buy-in, as players have the option to buy-in five times. For example, with the $3 buy-in you can choose between 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 ‘entry’s. In that case, each entry will cost $3 and earn you 1,000 chips. So in a $3 Flip & Go you can pay a maximum of $15 buy-in for which you get 5,000 chips.

Minimum buy-inMaximum buy-inChips per buy-inMaximum number of starting chips
$0.05$0.25 (5x$0.05)1,0005,000
$0.50$2.50 (5x$0.50)1,0005,000
$3$15 (5x$3)1,0005,000
$20$100 (5x$20)1,0005,000

The tournament begins for each player with the Flip phase. Eight different flip phases start every hour. So you have to wait a maximum of a few minutes before your tournament starts. You can participate in as many of these first phases as you want. All chips left over after one or more winning Flip phases are carried over to the Go phase. So if you win multiple Flip phases within the same hour, you can start the second phase of the tournament with a bigger stack.

Once the first phase of the tournament starts, you will be seated at a table with up to eight players. Each player is dealt three cards.

Flip Bonus

There are extra chips to be earned right from the start of the tournament and you don’t have to do anything for it. If you can make a combination with the three cards you have been dealt, you can earn a Flip Bonus.

This increases your starting stack by, for example, having three consecutive cards in your hand. That way you have a better chance of winning the Flip phase because your stack is bigger than the other players. There is a Flip Bonus to be earned in every hand during this first phase.

All in Until the End

As soon as all Flip Bonuses have been distributed to the players, the game can begin. All cards are now visible, so you have a short time to estimate your chances. You see which three cards each player has and therefore also which cards are left to end up on the table.

Each player must now drop one of the three cards. So you have to make a choice which two of the three cards you want to keep. GGPoker itself will suggest the card to drop, but that’s not always the best choice. So you have to look carefully at what your chances are by studying the other cards.

Once each player has selected a card to discard, the first hand is played. All players are required to go all-in. They will do that every hand during the Flip phase. As long as there are three or more players left, Run it Twice hands are played. This means that a ‘board’ with five cards is laid down twice. So you play the same hand twice, as it were, but with different cards on the board. This allows multiple winners to emerge from such a first hand.

All players who still have chips after this first hand play a second hand in the same way. This will repeat until there are two players left. These players go all-in heads-up again until one player remains. No Run it Twice will be used during heads-up.

The tournament ends as soon as there is one player left who has won all the chips at the table. This player qualifies for the Go phase. This second phase always starts five minutes past the hour. It is therefore possible that the second part of the tournament will start again soon.

Go Phase

The Go phase of the tournament is a tournament between all players who have won a flip phase in the last hour. Each winner will be automatically registered for the next Go tournament. Players take the chips they have left over in this first phase. So players who have won more often or received a Flip Bonus can have a bigger stack of chips than the other players.

All players in this tournament are already in the money, so they know that they won’t end the tournament without prize money. The second phase of Flip & Go takes about 60 to 120 minutes.
