BREAKING: Louise Fletcher Passed Away at The Age of 88!

Actress Louise Fletcher, well known for her performance as Nurse Ratched in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” has passed away at the age of 88.

Fletcher’s family said in a statement released to Deadline that she passed away peacefully at her home in Montdurausse, France.

Fletcher made his acting debut in the 1950s on TV Westerns like Lawman and Maverick. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama.

Her most well-known role was as Nurse Ratched opposite Jack Nicholson in the 1975 film adaption of.

She became only the third woman to win an Oscar, a BAFTA, and a Golden Globe for the same role.

At the Oscars, she acknowledged her parents’ disability by delivering her acceptance speech entirely in sign language. Have a look down below.

Sarah Paulson will play Fletcher’s character Nurse Ratched in a new Netflix series titled Ratched, premiering in 2020.

Fletcher herself went on to feature in films like Exorcist II: The Heretic, The Cheap Detective, and The Lady in Red after her performance in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

She also appeared in a number of television shows in her latter years, such as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Picket Fences, and Joan of Arcadia, as well as playing the mother of Frank Gallagher on the show Shameless.

Fletcher’s last acting performance was in the 2017 episode of Girlboss on Netflix.
