Overwatch 2 Season 3 Release Date: Season 3 of Overwatch 2 is quickly coming as Blizzard prepares for the release of a new map, modifications to the prize system, and many other things. What is known thus far about the impending content release is shown below.
An entirely new season will soon be upon us as Overwatch 2’s second season starts to come to a close and the Lunar New Year celebration puts an end to the most recent content cycle.
We know what to expect from Season 3 and it’s right around the corner.
While a new map is unavoidable, developers have also started hinting at other upcoming modifications to the game’s core systems and prizes.
Overwatch 2 Season 3 Release Date
Although Blizzard hasn’t yet announced a Season 3 release date, we can confidently lock in Tuesday, February 7 for the launch given the current Battle Pass expiry.
Because Overwatch 2 seasons last nine weeks, the proper amount of time will have passed by the time Season 3 begins on February 7. The second season of Warzone 2 was recently delayed in the Call of Duty video game franchise, therefore there is always a risk that Overwatch 2 may experience a similar situation.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 Changes
Executive producer Jared Neuss mentioned on Twitter that we should anticipate an update to “help solve the lack of choice in prizes” before the start of season 3. He continued by saying that “changes are coming” to the 30% ultimate charge retention that is currently in effect when switching heroes throughout a battle.
He concluded by stating that “there are enough core issues to fix” – such as team balance and matching – that such innovations are likely to emerge in later seasons, if at all, in response to fans’ cries for more game types.
Although it may not be what some players want to hear, this message from Neuss seems to suggest that Overwatch 2 season 3 will have a devoted focus on improving the current version of the hero shooter, rather than bringing plenty of new content.
A number of balancing updates, including a Sojourn/Mercy pocket nerf and a Roadhog “soft overhaul,” are already known to be forthcoming. The free PC game should do well heading into Overwatch 2 season 4 and beyond with this emphasis on balance.
Overwatch 2 Season 3 Upcoming Events
We don’t know if there will be a Valentine’s Day event after the Overwatch 2 Lunar New Year event as far as planned Overwatch 2 season 3 events go. Fans have been calling for it, so we can’t completely rule it out for Overwatch 2 season 3 just yet. It would undoubtedly be a first for the series and hence fairly doubtful.

The Overwatch 2 PvE mode is also in Blizzard’s schedule for 2023, although it’s still unclear whether it will launch in the next months. Whatever the case, the launch of season 3 will undoubtedly bring a refresh of new skins, emotes, and voice lines galore to the Overwatch 2 battle pass.
About the time being, those are the only details we have for Overwatch 2 season 3. A closer look toward the end of season 2 will provide more information on forthcoming heroes, maps, and events.
