Is Valkyrie Lesbian: In an interview with Valkyrie’s voice actress Erika Ishii and Respawn writer Tom Casiello, it was confirmed that Valkyrie is a lesbian character. She is the newest Legend in the popular battle royale game Apex Legends.
Apex Legends is the most popular battle royale game, and it doesn’t look like it’s going away any time soon. It has everything a gay gamer could want: real LGBTQIA characters who interact with each other in a canonical way (Overwatch, eat your heart out), an amazing community, and it’s only going to get better.
This could be the most queer season yet for LGBTQIA fans. For starters, Loba and Bangalore have a pretty good chemistry, which has only gotten clearer as the seasons have gone on. Fuse and Bloodhound seem to get along very well, and both Tom Casiello and Erika Ishii confirmed in an interview with MoonLiteWolf that Valkyrie is a lesbian.
We love this interview
We love this interview because Casiello said something that other game developers shouldn’t be afraid to say. Something to show support for the LGBTQIA+ community, which is so visible in this game and its characters. “We don’t want you to play our game if you don’t like the fact that we’re starting with two black women and a character who doesn’t fit into a single gender category. Goodbye.”
Ishii recorded voice lines that showed how interested her character was in women. Like when she says, “I like my women like I like my sake,” or when she talks to Loba in a flirty way, both in the Season 9 comic and in the game. This new season of Apex Legends has a lot to love, and the fact that Valkyrie is a lesbian is just one of them.
