Scream 7 Release Date: The renowned horror franchise created by Wes Craven is extremely popular. And following the release of Scream 6 in 2023, fans are eager to learn if Ghostface will appear in a seventh installment.
The Scream franchise began in 1996, yet it is still going strong, just like Ghostface himself. In the final installment of the horror film trilogy, a new group of Woodsboro survivors confronted the masked killer in New York City, offering us a new scene, new characters, and multiple paths for prospective sequels.
As stated previously, the horror film franchise has limitless potential for sequels, so will there be a Scream 7? Here is what we know about the probable new film starring the chef’s knife-wielding Ghostface.
Scream 7 Release Date
As previously said, Scream 7 has not yet been confirmed, so there is presently no official release date. The sixth installment of the Scream franchise was released in March 2023, fourteen months after the previous film, and was confirmed in February 2022. If the seventh film receives a similarly swift go-ahead, we may see Ghostface again next year.
However, the current key cast members, particularly Jenna Ortega, are in high demand and are working on other projects. This may postpone the production of the new film, so we may have to wait a bit longer.

Scream 7 Plot
Interestingly, while having a post-credits sequence, Scream 6 is a self-contained plot with minimal setup for a subsequent film. Sam and Tara kill the Ghostfaces (there are three of them this time), Tara says she’s going to therapy to deal with the Ghostface trauma, and Sam agrees to let Tara live more freely.
We can only surmise that Sam and Tara will be in Ghostface’s crosshairs in the seventh installment of Scream. Could it be another unidentified brother of a prior killer, as in Scream 6, or perhaps Stu Machin returning from the dead? Currently, your estimate is as good as ours.
Scream 7 Cast Speculation
If a new Scream movie receives the go-ahead, we are confident that the new “core-four” will return to the big screen. Melissa Barrera portrays Sam, Jenna Ortega portrays Tara, Mason Gooding portrays Chad, and Jasmin Savoy Brown plays Mindy.
In addition to Gale Weathers and Kirby Reed surviving Scream 6, Courteney Cox and Hayden Panettiere are anticipated to return as well. And, of course, you cannot have a Scream film without Roger Jackson providing the voice of Ghostface, can you?
