Outer Banks Season 3: Is Pogues Will Return for New Season in 2023?

As part of its yearly Tudum celebration, Netflix has published the Outer Banks season 3 trailer, which reveals what happened to the Pogues after season 2. A free 24-hour virtual global fan event called Tudum was launched by Netflix last year. A trailer for Tudum, which the streaming behemoth unveiled on September 14th, teased reveals for popular Netflix series like You, Stranger Things, Manifest, and Outer Banks.

Fans were anxious to learn whether Outer Banks had been renewed after the cliffhanger finale of season 2, which was broadcast in July 2021. This was because several Netflix programs were in jeopardy. Netflix formally announced in December that the show would return for a third season.

What Happened in Outer Banks Season 2

The Pogues have a near-death experience at the end of Outer Banks Season 2, much like in Season 1. The quest to find and recover the missing Cross of Santo Domingo took up a large portion of the second season of the Netflix series starring John B., Sarah, JJ, Kiara, and Pope.

The crew sneaked onto the Coastal Venture and made an effort to seize the cross in the season finale. After a violent shootout, they were unsuccessful and managed to flee on a lifeboat. The Pogues rejoiced to be together and in safety – for the time being — even if they were empty-handed once more as the episode came to a conclusion.

Outer Banks Season 2 Cast

New cast members joining the upcoming season were revealed by Netflix on June 23. A “ruthless Caribbean Don on his own treasure hunt,” Carlos Singh is portrayed by Andy McQueen. Lou Ferrigno Jr., who portrays Singh’s top security guard, will be paired with McQueen. Fiona Palomo will play Sofia in Season 3, a character described by Netflix as “a self-identified Pogue who builds a close connection to Rafe.”

When Will Season 3 of Outer Banks Air on Netflix?

The Outer Banks movie was scheduled to be filmed until August 19, according to What’s on Netflix. However, there have been no recent official updates on how the filming is going. Outer Banks Season 3 will most likely begin airing in early 2023 if it is finished in August. The season is anticipated to last six months because the series won’t require any significant CGI. Therefore, until and unless there are any scheduling delays, plan on a release date of February 2023.

You may anticipate the season to pick up where its predecessor left off in terms of the plot. As a result, when the Pogues arrive on the island—which is actually the island from which John B’s father was estranged—Outer Banks Season 3 will likely focus on their life. When they revealed that John B’s father is actually still alive at the end of season 2, our mouths dropped open.

You can also anticipate some flashbacks in the forthcoming season because, according to Netflix Life, a John B lookalike was cast.
