House of Dragon Release Date on HBO MAX!

House of Dragon Release Date: Before Game of Thrones‘ eight-year run ended with its contentious final season in the spring of 2019, there had been rumors dating back to 2017 that HBO planned to release multiple spinoffs and prequel series set in the fantastical world created by author George R. R. Martin for his novels A Song of Fire and Ice. The network gave the go-ahead to film a pilot for one program that was meant to take place tens of thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones and feature Naomi Watts, but other optioned ideas are still in the works.

Actually, one of them will arrive very soon. The first of the upcoming spinoffs is House of the Dragon, which received a full season order back in autumn 2019. The new program is about the Targaryen family, the clan from whom Daenerys and Jon Snow are descended, which should be obvious from the title alone if you’re acquainted with the novels or have watched the original. Here is what we currently know about House of the Dragon, which HBO and George R. R. Martin are beginning to fire the coals on.

House of Dragon Release Date

HBO revealed in late March 2022 that House of the Dragon will debut on Sunday, August 21. Since the show airs once a week, Game of Thrones viewers may resume watching at the end of the weekend as usual.

The program, which HBO released this year, was only recently in development when it first started in the spring or summer of 2021. You can now confidently anticipate all of the dragons and inter-family conflicts that are on the way.

House of Dragon Plot

According to THR, House of the Dragon follows the beginning and conclusion of House Targaryen’s rule and is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. That includes the notorious Dance of the Dragons or the Targaryen civil war that tore Westeros apart, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. It should follow Viserys’ quest in selecting an heir to the Iron Throne because it is based on Martin’s 2018 novel Fire & Blood.

Will there be dragons?

Naturally, there will be! Given that the Targaryens have a lengthy history of being one of the few families to hold the title of dragon lords and that the series is titled House of the Dragon, it should come as no surprise that the dragons will return. In actuality, the Targaryens will possess 17. But don’t count on them to work the same way they did with Daenerys. During a Comic-Con discussion, Condal noted, “It was crucial to distinguish the way they reacted and acted and linked with their riders.”

Late in 2020, HBO posted concept images of the dragons from the House of Dragons on social media, and they appear just as fierce as Daenerys’ stunning Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion.
