Handmaids Tale Season 5 Release Date: Confirm or Cancelled! Check Here!

Handmaids Tale Season 5: Gilead is a depressing and horrible place to go, so we’re happy to give fans of The Handmaid’s Tale some good news for a change: the show is officially coming back for a fifth season! Even before season four started, the cast said that the show would be back for a fifth season in December 2020.

Bruce Miller, who is in charge of the show, told The Hollywood Reporter, “We are thrilled to be able to keep telling these stories with our amazing cast and crew, and we can’t wait to be back on the air next year with season four.”

Handmaids Tale Season 5 Synopsis

“When it first came out, people thought it was crazy. But when I wrote it, I made sure not to include anything that people hadn’t already done somewhere at some point.” (The Guardian wrote about it.) Seasons 1-4 have shown us how cruel people can be, but what will season five bring?

There aren’t many details about the plot right now, but it’s safe to say that The Handmaid’s Tale will continue to look at June’s trauma after she fled Gilead and went to Canada. Ann Dowd, who plays Aunt Lydia, has already said that the first few episodes of the season will be very exciting.

“I’ve read the first couple of episodes, and all I can say is that they’re so good. I had no idea any of this would happen. She told The Independent, “When you get to season five, you’re like, ‘What?'” She made it clear: “Not in a crazy way that makes you think, “Wait, how could that happen?” It’s like, “[gasps] Wow, that’s great.” It tastes great.

Dowd said, “Stuff happens that makes you go “Woah, woah, woah.” Dowd isn’t the only one who says that season five will be exciting. Moss, who plays the main character on the show, told TV Line that the next season will be full of action. June’s Moss said, “I will say that the season itself has been one of the craziest rides we’ve had.”

“There have been times when, you know, a lot has happened. Not as much happens some times of the year.” She went on, “I almost can’t keep up with what’s going to happen in the next episodes, and that’s not just lip service. I really mean that I’m almost too busy to keep up with everything that’s going on.”

Moss told Stylist that the cast has been putting in a lot of work to make this exciting new season. “Of course, it’s been hard because we have to work really hard and spend a lot of time on location. But I would say there was never a dull moment.” Moss has been quiet about the rest of the details, but the rest of the cast has been giving more hints.

In March 2022, Samira Wiley, who plays Moira, was on the talk show The View. She gave a hint about how the show would start by saying, “We’re picking up really right where we left off. Commander Waterford’s fate was shown in the season finale, so everyone who saw it knows what happened. So, June is in a little bit of trouble, as she always is.”

Samira knew trouble was coming when she heard about June’s successful move to Canada. She said, “She has resources around her now that she didn’t have when she lived in Gilead. So, we’ll wait and see what happens. How June and her friends can fight against Gilead from inside Canada.”

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 Release Date

The fifth season of The Handmaid’s Tale will be on Hulu on September 14 2022. The first season will have two episodes.

In December 2020, the streaming service picked up the show for a fifth season. The news came out during a presentation at Disney’s Investor Day, which was months before the start of season 4.

The show’s first three seasons came out about a year apart, in April 2017, April 2018, and June 2019. Season 4 didn’t come out until April 2021 because the coronavirus pandemic put it and a lot of other TV and movie projects on hold.
