Endeavour Season 8 Release Date: Confirm or Cancelled! Check Here!

Endeavour Season 8: There will be just six more episodes of Endeavour after PBS revealed that the show’s next season will be its final. To tide fans over until then, CBS has published a new teaser for the program, showing Morse and Thursday on the hunt for another serial murderer.

In the United Kingdom, the eighth season of Masterpiece has already been shown on ITV, so we already know what to anticipate from these new episodes—including if a particular fan-favourite cast member is back.

Endeavour Season 8 Release Date

The eighth season of Endeavour premiered on ITV in the United Kingdom on September 12, 2021. ITV Hub has all of the episodes. In the United States, the eighth season of Endeavour will premiere on PBS on June 19.

What happened at the end of The Endeavour season 7?

The final episode of Endeavour‘s seventh season was a sombre one, set in Venice at night. Freak accidents at Oxford and the “Towpath Killer,” a serial killer whose identity Oxford City police were unable to locate, have been a source of disagreement between Morse and his instructor Fred Thursday (Endeavour was convinced of foul play, but Fred disagreed).

A simmering animosity between Endeavour and Fred was finally exposed in episode three, as the detectives traded insults while standing over a dead body. Dr Max DeBryn had to intervene to keep the pair from fighting, as he’s usually known for being a calm and etiquette-challenged pathologist.

As he promised to leave the department, Endeavour pursued leads about the odd accidents, and it was DS Jim Strange who helped them find and catch the towpath killer, who turned out to be the guy Fred had suspected all along, despite Endeavour’s skepticism.

When Endeavour finally realized that his new friend, Ludo, was responsible for the tragic freak occurrences, he set off for Venice (whose wife, Violetta, Endeavour was having an affair with). Violetta and Endeavour had a last fight on the moon, in which Fred arrived just in time to save Violetta before she was shot.

Who Is in the Cast of Endeavour Season 8?

Except for Violetta (Stephanie Leonidas), who (spoilers) died at the conclusion of the previous season’s finale, all of the key characters from Season 7 are back. Evans as Endeavour, Roger Allam as Fred Thursday, James Bradshaw as Max DeBryn, Sean Rigby as Jim Strange, Anton Lesser as Reginald Bright, Caroline O’Neill as Win Thursday, and Abigail Thaw as Dorothea Frazil are among the returning cast members.

In addition, a cast member who missed the previous season will return. Sara Vickers returns to her role as Joan on Thursday after missing the previous three episodes to care for her newborn child. In the upcoming episodes, Julian Moore-Cook will portray a soccer player whose life has been threatened and whom Morse must defend. Andrew Havill portrays a college president whose secretary is killed in a bombing.
