The story of Brendon Urie became a trending topic on Twitter amid accusations

On August 13, 2020, Twitter users used the hashtag #BrendonUrieSpeakUp to draw attention to Urie’s claims. Former Panic! At The Disco bassist Dallon Weekes’ wife, Breezy Weekes, accused the band’s security Zack Hall of sexual harassment, prompting the hashtag. Panic At The Disco Controversy

According to one anonymous Twitter user, Urie made advances while the user “explicitly” admitted they were young at the time. While many rallied to Urie’s support, others questioned the story’s veracity.

Following the #MeToo movement, PATD followers appear to be conflicted between trusting individuals who have come forward and pointing to celebrities in similar situations where the claims were proven untrue.

Others mentioned previous ‘problematic’ Brendon Urie instances

Meaww reported on such “problematic” actions in the past among the deluge of tweets around the hashtags. Some of Urie’s alleged crimes have already been reported. YouTube was flooded with “I Wish I Was Black” speeches and “slut-shaming” videos. There’s also a full Twitter thread with links to additional films, interviews, and tweets by Urie himself about transphobia, ableism, rape, racist insults, and other topics.

However, many Reddit users support the musician, claiming that his behavior has been taken too seriously.

Brendon Urie has not reacted to the charges, and supporters continue to refer to Weekes’ comments

While PATD supporters await Urie’s answer to the claims, others are recalling Breezy Weekes’ remarks. “Abusive behavior is sometimes viewed as a ‘funny.’ They aren’t. These are just a few of the ‘jokes’ I had to put up with. “It grew worse when I quit ‘playing along,'” Weekes revealed on July 26.

Weekes also tweeted a snapshot of fan correspondence in a trash bin, implying Hall threw it away. “Except he seldom, if ever, sent Dallon his fan letters during events and then threw it away.” I know this for a fact since we had a few close friends who would ask us whether we got an item soon after sending it to Zack and we never did. “He made Dallon believe he wasn’t getting any,” she explained. Weekes’ charges have not been addressed by Hall.
