Director of Brahmastra Ayan Mukerji Discusses the “Love Storiyaan” Kesariya Song Controversy in “Shakar Me Thoda Namak”

Kesariya, the most awaited song from Brahmastra, was released online and is currently trending worldwide for some contentious reasons. The song, however, hasn’t met the fans’ expectations. Kesariya, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt as Shiv and Isha, respectively, has drawn scathing criticism for a variety of factors.

According to reports in Koi Moi, several social media users believed that the melody of Kesariya was taken from the song Laare Choote. Some people thought the song’s use of the word “Love storiyaan” was needless and cringe-worthy. Ayan Mukerji has finally spoken out about the love storiyaan controversy in the Kesariya song after months of quiet.

Reddit recently shared a video of the director discussing the same in an interview. Ayan is heard informing the interviewer that the way the word “love storiyaan” is used is not like the way elaichi is used in briyani, but rather like a little salt mixed in with a lot of sugar. “We put it with a lot of affection, we found it to be quite engaging,” Ayan Mukerji was overheard adding.

We did not perceive it to be elaichi; rather, we believed it to be a twist along the lines of “it’s not like a cardamon in biryani, it’s like salt amid too much sugar, it has its own taste.” Because the song’s lyrics are so conventional and straightforward for a modern movie, it would have been a delightful twist. I still believe that eventually people will begin to take pleasure in it even more.
