Darius Cooks Controversy: It’s time to go! The Better Business Bureau has issued a warning to controversial chef Darius ‘Cooks’ Williams

Darius Cooks Controversy: The Better Business Bureau of Metro Atlanta has issued a warning to Atlanta-based culinary entrepreneur Chef Darius “Cooks” Williams in response to almost 100 consumer complaints. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the BBB issued a warning on May 18 regarding Williams and DariusCooks, LLC, an online cookbook, garment, and accessory business.

DariusCooks, LLC, which obtained a “F” rating, received the BBB’s lowest score owing to recent unresolved complaints. Customers have reported receiving nothing after purchasing Williams’ items or tickets to his culinary events.

According to the bureau’s warning letter, “over 70 consumers claimed to BBB that the firm failed to deliver items bought by its customers, did not issue requested refunds, did not clarify reasons for shipment delays, and provided poor customer service.”

According to the BBB

Sherrica B., a Minot, North Dakota woman, stated she ordered two physical cookbooks from DariusCooks, LLC. She got news that a shipping label had been prepared on April 6, 2021, but she received no more communications from the firm.

“I emailed the firm to inquire about the status of my order and received no answer,” she informed BBB. “When I phoned the post office, they indicated they hadn’t received the packages.” She went on to say that she tried to contact Williams several times after hearing other accusations similar to hers, but was ignored and blocked on social media.

Sonya T. of Montgomery, Alabama, stated in May 2021 that she booked tickets for the “Dining With DariusCooks” event, but it was canceled twice due to COVID-19. Her attempts to obtain a refund were futile.

I emailed in January and February and didn’t get a response

“I emailed in January and February and didn’t get a response,” she explained. “Finally, in April, I received an email indicating he had another dinner event in 2021 and I would have first choice, but he wanted the order number from the initial October 2019 purchase.” I no longer have the emails including the order number from October 2019. I was advised that without the order number, I couldn’t acquire a ticket to a forthcoming event or a refund.”

DariusCooks, LLC was administratively dissolved in 2019 for “failing to file yearly registration and/or failing to maintain a registered agent or registered office in this state,” according to the Georgia Secretary of State.

“I don’t normally answer to BBB’s because there’s so much more that goes with with it, right?” the Chicago native previously told BLACK ENTERPRISE. “If you go on my platform, nobody is complaining about not getting their book,” he continued. Nobody is whining about not getting their cake. Nobody is upset that their credit score did not improve.”

BLACK ENTERPRISE has revealed that the celebrity internet chef has been accused of stealing money and defrauding customers, in addition to a slew of harassment and credit card fraud accusations. Williams disputed all of the charges, calling them “untruthful.”
