Brockhampton Controversy: Kevin Abstract says that getting rid of Ameer Vann from Brockhampton “completely messed me up.”

Brockhampton Controversy

Brockhampton Controversy: Kevin Abstract has talked about what it was like for him when Ameer Vann was kicked out of Brockhampton, saying that it “completely messed me up.” Vann was one of the first people to join the band, but he was kicked out in May 2018 after being accused of sexual abuse.

The rapper has always denied the accusations, and he talked about them in a tweet at the time. He said, “My behavior has been selfish, childish, and mean, but I have never hurt anyone criminally or crossed their boundaries.” I have never had sexual relations with a minor or someone without their permission.”

Rick Rubin Interview

Abstract recently did an interview with producer Rick Rubin for GQ. When Rubin asked him about traumatic events in his life, he said, “Kicking our friend out of the group was the most recent one that really stuck with me.”

“That really messed me up because it was someone I’ve known since I was 14—almost a decade. To completely cut someone off in front of people, the audience, is a crazy thing and something you think about every single day.”

When asked if he had seen Vann since then, Abstract said that he had run into him somewhere and had a short conversation with him that was “heartbreaking in a way.” He also said that he didn’t regret that the group broke up with Vann, but he wished they’d had “more time to talk.” “I wish I hadn’t made the choice so quickly, even though we both made the same choice. I wish we could talk a little longer.”

Abstract said that he was having a “identity crisis” because of what Vann’s leaving had done to him. “It’s made me less sure of myself as a leader and as an artist, and I’m not sure what I can do creatively,” he said. “I’m not saying it will stay that way forever; I’m just acknowledging it.”

The leader of Brockhampton released his solo album, “ARIZONA BABY,” in April 2017. It was the follow-up to “American Boyfriend: A Suburban Love Story,” which came out in 2016. Shia LaBeouf is making a movie about Abstract’s life at the same time. Early this year, the script for Minor Modifications was posted on the website for screenwriters called The Black List.
