Reggae Reggae Sauce

Reggae Reggae Sauce by Levi Roots is a jerk barbecue sauce. At the Notting Hill Carnival in 2006, 4,000 bottles of the sauce were bought and sold.

Later, he brought the sauce to a food trade event, where a BBC producer saw him and approached him about appearing on Dragons’ Den. He made an appearance on the first episode of the fourth season in February 2007 and asked the Dragons for £50,000 in exchange for a 20% equity stake in Reggae Reggae Sauce. Peter Jones and Richard Farleigh gave him £50,000 for a 40% stake in his company despite his false assertion that he had an order for 2.5 million litres of the sauce (when in reality the order was for 2,500 kg). Sainsbury’s said that 600 of its stores will stock the sauce shortly following his participation on the program.
