It’s been one year since JoJo Siwa came out as homosexual

On Sunday, JoJo Siwa marked her one-year anniversary of coming out as a member of the LGBTQ community with an emotional Instagram post.

“I’ve never felt greater love than in the last 365 days.” She captioned a flashback photo of herself wearing the T-shirt she used to come out, which said “Best. Homosexual. Cousin. Ever.” “A year ago today I posted this image and announced with the world that I was gay,” she wrote.

Siwa, who is 18 years old, said she is usually asked if coming out was a “frightening” experience, to which she replied, “Of course.”

“However, whatever that is odd about you is frightening… It’s what defines me as a person. “I had no qualms about sharing it with the rest of the world,” she explained.

People frequently questioned the dancer if she was concerned about coming out to her young fan base and telling them about her sexuality.

“Truly, I believe I was meant on this earth to be a role model for children, and letting all of the children of the world know that embracing everyone for who they are, no matter what, is something that I will always believe in and share,” she said.

The former “Dance Moms” star then thanked her fans for their support over the previous year, reminding them that individuals should be free to love whomever they want.

“Please never forget that you are totally perfect no matter who you are, what you look like, or who you love,” she said. “Thank you for showering me with affection throughout the year and my entire life.” “I adore each and every one of you.”

Siwa also commemorated the occasion with an emotional statement at her show in Bakersfield, Calif., on Friday, according to the Daily Mail.

“‘You have a very young demographic,’ a lot of people said. “Aren’t you afraid of telling them you’re gay?” she allegedly asked the audience. “And I said, ‘I’m not ashamed to teach my young demographic that embracing everyone for who they are is precisely what you should do,'” she continued. I want to tell you that it’s OK, no matter who you are or who you love.”

Siwa first stirred LGBT rumors when she released a video to TikTok in January 2021 lip-syncing Lady Gaga‘s “Meant This Way,” saying, “No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian transgender life / I’m on the correct track baby, I was born to survive.”

The next day, she tweeted a selfie of herself wearing a T-shirt that read “Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever,” prompting many to believe she was coming out. She confirmed two days later that she is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

In April 2021, she clarified that she is queer and pansexual, adding, “My human is my human.”

In February 2021, Siwa announced her relationship with Kylie Prew, and the two made their PDA-filled red carpet debut over seven months later. In November, the couple called it quits.
