Emmanuel the Emu, a Tik Tok Star, Became Ill in A Deadly Flu Outbreak

Accidental TikTok celebrity Emmanuel the emu is in critical condition after avian flu swept across his Florida farm, killing all but a few birds. Taylor Blake, Emmanuels caregiver, announced his critical condition on social media on Saturday night, blaming the epidemic on wild geese who raid the property nightly.

Every single chicken and duck on our property died. All of our geese died. We lost both of our female black swans. We lost both of our turkeys, Blake said on Twitter. We lost about 50 birds in three days. Im still trying to make sense of it. We believed we were out of the woods until Emmanuel collapsed abruptly this past Wednesday.

Emmanuel has over 2 million TikTok followers, thanks primarily to his comical attacks on Blakes iPhone when she is filming farm life videos. Blake stated that she has been caring for him around the clock since Wednesday, with the assistance of a veterinarian who sedated and stabilized him. She shared a series of images of herself and her partner attempting to resuscitate the sick emu.

He is currently steady. Although his neurological symptoms have decreased, he still refuses to eat or drink on his own. Im hand feeding him and giving him subcutaneous fluids every 2 hours, 24 hours a day, she explained.

The problem is that he has some nerve damage in his right leg and foot; he collapsed in the middle of the night and we didnt realize it until the next morning. He spent hours laying on one side, which did him considerable harm.
